Psychological Treatment Modalities in Context: A South African Perspective and cross boarder virtual practice The Psychinc 2026 Psychology CPD Programme focuses on evidence-based psychological treatment modalities that are actively used in professional practice and relevant to the South African mental health context. This CPD series is designed for psychologists, registered counsellors, and mental health professionals seeking HPCSA-accredited CPD activities that are clinically grounded and contextually informed.

The programme critically explores psychological treatment approaches within their historical, cultural, ethical, and systemic frameworks, supporting ethical and effective mental health care delivery in South Africa.

Opening CPD Session – January 2026

Historical Overview of Psychological Treatment Modalities The opening session provides a historical overview of psychological treatment modalities, examining how key therapeutic approaches emerged, evolved, and were adapted over time. Particular attention is given to the application of psychological treatment modalities in South Africa, including relevance across private practice, public health, community, and institutional settings.

This foundational CPD session sets the framework for the 2026 CPD series and invites participants to contribute topic suggestions for monthly psychology CPD meetings throughout the year.
